MFPA at Wallace

Alison Lapper MBE must be the most famous Thalidomide victim in the world, thanks to her courage and Marc Quinn's statue Alison Lapper Pregnant (2005). First the statue appeared on the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square (CLICK). Then a giant version of the statue formed the centrepiece for the London 2012 Paralympic Games opening ceremony (CLICK). This photo shows the giant statue gracing the 55th Venice Biennale last year. On Friday 10 October the Mouth and Foot Painting Artists (MFPA) will launch their UK roadshow in the Great Gallery of The Wallace Collection. Alison Lapper will be there from 10am to 3pm, showing how she paints using brushes held in her mouth. The event is free. CLICK to visit the MFPA website.
